File upload and download issue

My graphics teams are uploading jpg images to my Trello cards as they have always done unless it's a PNG.  When I go to "save as" the file to my desktop, it only allows a webp file which is not supported to the programs I need the image to be on.  I've updated my browser and have cleared cache but still no luck.  My team is saying nothing has changed in their processes of what we have been doing.  Please help as we need these images in the jpeg and png formats.

Hi Mike,

After clicking on an attached photo to view it in its larger size, try clicking the "open in new tab" button just below the image. The new tab should render the image in its original format, and you should be able to right-click and save in that format as well.

Alternatively, you can download the original by going to the Attachments section on the card back. Click the three dots and select "download"

Let me know if this helps!

HI Nick;

Thank you!  This is helpful and to add, I have found another work-around using a add-on to Chrome through the Chrome store.  Its a "Save as Type"  which will also allow you to open and do a Save As Type versus the Save As and it allows the native file types.

Really appreciate you commenting and helping a guy out...lol

Hi Nick

While this may make your page load faster, it adds steps to my workflow which trello is part of, which makes your site LESS USEFUL for me to use. Would it be possible to make a 'preserve filetype' toggle that users can opt into? As-is, this is dealbreaking for me, a seven-year trello user.

like this was bad enough that I actually registered for this site to complain about it.

Hi Sam, I'm sorry this disrupted your workflow. That's never fun, especially when it comes so abruptly!

There is now a new "Download" button below previews of images, which will always download the original image when clicked.

I hope this makes things a bit better for you. We strive to keep Trello fast, in both the way we load user content and in how we support their various workflows 😎

Facing same issue

My workaround has been to right-click on the icon in the Trello card versus opening the image in a new window.  By right-clicking on the icon, you can Save Link As... and it will allow different file formats.  If I open image in a new window, I am only able to save as...Webp.  Frustrating.  Had to go in the back-end to delete the Webp Image Extension however, it still defaults the Webp.  If you have a solution where I can open the image in a seperate Window and Save As... (Jpeg and or PNG) please let me know what I need to do.  Hope the workaround helps ya
