User recognition in Bit Bucket

we are still building our environment in Jira On demand with Bit Bucket. Simple question: how come I cannot synchronise my user between my system and Bit Bucket for commits? When I commit something Bit bucket sees it but does not recognize my user, then it Jira it does ... So I made sure all 3 uses the same user/email: Jira, Bit Bucket and HG. If I use an alias it works but doing this for 15 dev, in 30 repo does not sounds particularly interesting. My email is also validated in my Bit Bucket account!

Anybody has an idea?

my issue is not between Bit Bucket and Jira on Demand. Its with Bit Bucket and my HG tortoise. When I commit and then push in the Team HG using my credentials the commit appears in the HG team repository, but not in my account. My account does not see my commit. If I go in Jira On demand it sees me has the one that has made the commit !!!! So I'm wondering why do i have to use an aliase in the Bit Bucket repo so it links it to my Bit Bucket account ?? When I do a push I am using the same username/password/email then is setted up in my Bit Bucket account. My bit Bucket account is and admin of the Team HG repo ? I did the steps in the Atlassian help section with no result, the only way that works is to create an aliase in the Team HG repo.

Sorry for my lack of information the first time

Finally found the answer, to make Bit bucket recognize your user and link your commits to your accounts you need the following format has commit name: BitBucketUserName <bibucaketaccountemail>. Jira sees them properly also.

with this it works fine.

I don't know if things have changed, but when I last looked at it alias was the only way since the accounts aren't linked. It isn't like Fisheye since you can do SSO or pull in from JIRA's user directory.

Coming soon. It's something we'd love to use ourselves!

In the mean time, if you have one, you could tie through a Google Apps account, using the OpenID to log in to both Bitbucket and OnDemand.

Kevin, any chance you can clarify your answer some more, I'm having the same issue.
