Upgrade from Confluence 3.1 (on Mac) to 4.3 (on Linux)

Joe Reyna September 20, 2012

Our current Confluence install is version 3.1 and is running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I am trying to upgrade to the current version (4.3), but this will run on Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.2. Can you tell me what the upgrade path is from 3.1 to 4.3 (is there an earlier required version before I jump to 4.3?) and if there are any tips I should know in doing this?

Hi, always best to run this first on a test environment to make sure everything is worked out.

Refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF43/Confluence+4.3+Upgrade+Notes on notes on upgrading to Confluence 4.3.

In particular follow the upgrade procedure and note that it is recommended you go first to 3.5 and then 4.3.
