Summary and Description dialog box not appearing in ie8, windows system 7

Question

We've created a project in JIRA and it functions properly (displays the feedback box, sends the data to JIRA) in all browsers for ie10 and ie11 (we have not tested 9 yet); but in ie8 both the Summary and the feedback box do not appear, the user gets this error message:  {"errorMessages":[],"errors":{"summary":"You must specify a summary of the issue."}} and they cannot add or submit their issue.  Jira works in firefox, but our clients cannot download that browser because of firewalls.  Any suggestions?

That's the supported platforms for 6.3 EAP, not yet released. For 6.2 IE8 is supported.

Hi Shannon,

Can you please confirm the version of JIRA you are using? According to the Supported Platforms document IE8 is not listed as supported for the most recent JIRA versions (while IE9, 10 and 11 are listed), so it may have some compatibility issue. If this is the case, I'd recommend using at least IE9.
