How do I undo the resolution field in a particular issue?

Doug Howie January 25, 2016

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Defining resolution field values

We had an error recently that caused some open issues to have their resolution set to the default. Is there any way to "unset" this field, or do we just have to live with it until the issues are actually complete?

If you are an admin, you can create a workflow transition that clears the resolution in the post function. You can open up this transition only to admins and remove it once the job is done!

You cannot use bulk edit to modify Resolutions (see JRA-7302). However, they do provide a work-around here.

If you have bulk edit permissions you can select the list of impacted issues and then do a bulk update to the resolution field setting the value to none.  As always with bulk edits take great care in your selection and look at the confirm page to make sure you know exactly what is going to happen.
