Changing LDAP connection in a config file?

Scott Genevish July 24, 2013

The LDAP directory I was using for authentication was retired and now I can't log into Confluence as an admin. Is there a config file I can change to update the LDAP directory info?

Hi Scott,

It depends on which version of Confluence you are running.

In case you're running Confluence 3.4 or below, you have the atlassian-user.xml file for the LDAP configuration settings.

You can check this documetation to restore your admin password: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF34/Restoring+Passwords+To+Recover+Admin+User+Rights

In case you are running Confluence 3.5 or above, chech this documentation of how to retrive access as a local admin, so you'll be able to change you diretory settings: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF51/Restoring+Passwords+To+Recover+Admin+User+Rights

Hope it helps!

Hi!

Could you note a similar file for Jira as well, please?

Thank you
