I'm trying to find an easy way to assign users to be able to see only certain projects, but the help file seems to make this very complicated. Is there an easy way to tie users to projects without having to create project roles and groups?
We have a helper plugin trying to make it more simple: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.keplerrominfo.jira.plugins.rightsdna
you can configure Individual users in project permissions check this
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Managing+Project+Permissions
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
if you configure Browse Projects permission then user can able to se only that project, most of the permissions dependent on this permission!!
may be you will get better solution from others!!

Thank you for your answer, I've looked at this too, but this still seems to be very complicated. There seems to be a lot of steps to simply keep a user from seeing projects that they aren't a part of. Is this the only way?
