AD login failed intermitted

Hi,

Some user report when using AD login failed first time, after 2 minutes, it become normal. and it's intermitted for 1 or 2 times per week.

we have setup longer timeout for the AD auth. but seems the issue still present. thanks.

Hello CT,

Usually this happens when you have a and AD Farm, that is distance from the source, and this can cause the user to timeout on its login. If the Farm starts responding normally it goes back to normal (assuming that you have a farm).

This could also happen when you SSL, and the encryption times out, or the certificate timeout between the servers are too small, having a 1second delay to drop the packet and therefore close connection.

Either of those are just a theory, the best way to see this is to look at the logs, located at <confluence-home>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log and take a look, it usually helps to get a better picture of what the error is. If there is no errors, then it means that its outside Confluence.
