Why remove color scheme from Confluence and Jira?

Marcel Wilson September 29, 2017

Can someone tell me why there is no longer a color scheme setting for things like headings, links, menus, create buttons, etc?

We have a color scheme that fits our company logo and it really makes reading the page a bit easier.

Here is the current layout with our colors.old_layout_scheme.png

VS

The "new" layout. No colors, everything is dull grey.  Notice also, you cannot see our company logo on this page either.  It only appears in the main menu.

Why on earth would you think it is a good idea to take away customization?  This is a poor decision Atlassian.  It's made worse in Confluence.

Hi Marcel,

As with every big change, some features are not available from the start. Atlassian is continuously working on the new design and is adding new/existing features every week. For now, configuring the colour scheme is very basic but I would expect more possibilities to be added back again later.

If you want to make sure they add it, leave feedback within Confluence, using the "Give Feedback" item in the profile menu.

Best,

Maarten
