Why is start-jira.sh missing?

Casper Roubos April 15, 2014

Hi,

I have the download JIRA standalone 6.2.2 tar.gz .

In the manual states that to run jira, "start-jira.sh", but it is not in de tar.gz. Where is it.

When starting daemon.sh it says " missing conf/server.xml"

after installing a standard tomcat7 server.xml, there is an other error:

"SERVERE: unable to create directoy for deployment /conf/catalina/localhost"

Why is he trying to create a directory on a directoy that was not in the manual 'installing jira from an archive for linux'? In the manual specific states which directories to make writeable.

Is the manual outdated?

Thanks very much for any help.

Sounds like you got a damaged download to me - whatever you've expanded seems to be missing bits.

Check that you downloaded the full file and expanded it ok.
