Hi

We had problem with the same user in different domains. We have user directory connected to our Microsoft AD. There are a few domains, this case cz and ext. One user moved from cz domain (was disabled) to ext. Since then every synchronization between JIRA and AD JIRA switch bout account - once it was disabled and once active. We solve this by changing sAMAccountName in disabled account. But question is what is the proper solution? - it is completely legal to have two accounts with the same name in domains in AD. What is the "clear" way, without suffixes to name?

Thanks

Michal

It is legitimate to have a user in many directories, but JIRA simply uses the first one it finds, which then "shields" any others it finds in other directories.

The "clear" way is to remove the duplicates from the directories (as far as JIRA sees them).  You can set filters to exclude them if there's a way to group defunct users, rename the duplicates, or delete them.
