Unable to add a transition to a workflow

Question

I have inherited this workflow:

I am trying to add a transition to move status back from Operate to Evolve(Build), however there is on option for the Operate status to add a transition:

I can add/delete transitions between other statuses in this workflow.

Can anyone explain what is happening here? And have any suggestions for how I can achieve what I set out to do?

Hello,

The problem is that you have no outgoing transitions from the Operate status. That is why you can not add a new outgoing transition to the status if the workflow is active. You have to copy the worflow and make changes to the copied workflow. After it you should apply the copied workflow to the project workflow scheme in place of the old workflow.
