I am still trying to find out that the best cloud based JIRA product would allow the following:
I really want to be able to track how long a story sits each status...Functional Review, Development, Testing, etc...I would like to see if after testing it goes back to Development and then for how long?? Essentially, it is tracking a story's progression through the different status's in a Kanban so we can learn from it. Does this application do this or what would be the best app??
Great suggestions have seen there but will add the worthy option to the list. With TMetric time tracker, you will get reporting/budgeting/invoicing in one tool plus accurate time tracking in Jira. The integration is easy to set up and works in the background letting you switch between apps easily.
I would recommend a new app in the marketplace TeamBoard Team Resource for Team management and TeamBoard Project Resource for projects and program, they have morden design and rich features and tracking time is one of the core feature they support.

I have a free tool that will do what you are looking for. It's called the Enhanced Jira Query Tool. It is a Google Sheets application that leverages the Jira REST API to retrieve data from Jira. It can retrieve any field and its respective properties from Jira. It also has special derived fields not available in Jira such as time in status, cycle/lead time, working time, waiting time, and unplanned work to name a few. We now have Server, Data Center and Cloud options.
Also, as a good alternative, you can try add-on Time in Status for Jira Cloud by SaaSJet. Using it, you will get an opportunity:
- calculate time in the status,
- get average time issues spent in statuses
- monitor time that a particular assignee was assigned to each issue
- save time when every issue entered to each of the statuses for the first time
- generate status and transition count report,
You can view the data from all reports as tables or as charts. Each of them is available for export.
Also, with the help of another add-on Issue History you will be able to see all the changes that happened since the issue had been created and who made them.
