I am looking to add the approval buttons into the body of a custom email, apparently this was added as a feature in 5.4.28 but cannot find the binding to use documented anywhere.

If there's no reference to this feature in product documentation, then I'd contact vendor support and ask them.
Did you ever get guidance on this? I'm making custom emails wanting to leverage the built in Service Desk approvals as well.
