Migrating from existing JIRA (Windows) to AWS on Ubuntu?

Deleted user May 6, 2015

We're migrating a locally hosted JIRA installation up to an AWS instance running Ubuntu. Has anyone done this before? We're trying to figure out if we need to follow this guide (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Migrating+JIRA+to+Another+Server?continue=https%3A%2F%2Fconfluence.atlassian.com%2Fdisplay%2FJIRA%2FMigrating%2BJIRA%2Bto%2BAnother%2BServer&application=cac) step by step or if we really just need to migrate the XML files that result from a backup and the attachments/indexes folders and do an import.

Any guidance is appreciated!

Hello Community!

We've just built the beta of a solution to help ease migrations from Server/Data-Center-on-prem to Data-Center-on-AWS-Quickstarts.

Would you be interested to join our beta program and try out this solution? If you're interested, or would like to find out more, please email me at echan@atlassian.com.

Hi!

1 backup JIRA

2 instail JIRA to new server

3 instail all plugins that were set on old JIRA

4 restore from backup file

works every time
