JIRA connection to LDAP

Deleted user October 28, 2013

We want to associate JIRA issues or more generally JIRA product versions with accounting codes which are stored in our LDAP database. This is so that we can report time spent on issues and new features against an appropriate accounting code.

Does JIRA have the ability to interface to LDAP ? If not, would it be feasible for us to add such functionality ? We don't want developers to have to worry about choosing accounting codes, which is why we think that associating accounting codes with product versions might be the best approach to the problem.

Thanks for any help

You will have to write some custom code (add-ons) to do this. Especially the requirement seems not too generic.

As a starter though, the answer is yes - because Jira can use LDAP for users, it can definitely read/write LDAP. But there's no code for reading anything else, so that's what Jobin has recommended.

If possible, I'd be tempted to re-use an existing connection settings Jira has for the user base.
