JIRA command line

Kota Sreenivasa Shravana Kumar July 29, 2013

We are using JIRA 5.2.7 on Linux.

Does JIRA has any command line support on LInux?

As we all know, JIRA has many administrative capabilities via web interface. Is it possible to perform those administation activities using command line interface in JIRA ? for example: Performing re-indexing , executing integrity checker, Taking backup etc. using JIRA command line.

Thanks

No. There are no command line tools.

You can, of course, trigger all sorts of things remotely - there's a REST interface which can do all sorts of things. Have a look in the marketplace for Bob Swift's CLI addon too - that makes scripting on a command line very easy (and because it's remote communication, you don't even need to be on the Jira server). You've got other options for automation too.

However, reindexing and the integrity checker really are things that need to be done by an admin for a good reason - there's no good reason for running them automatically (as for backups, they're automated already)
