JIRA - Domain migration

Vandrey Trindade August 13, 2018

Hi,

We are thinking on a domain migration in my organization.

The problem is: Does JIRA plays nice with it?

I have two doubts:

1- Using the tool ADMT for doing the domain migration, I'm able to set the use of the SIDHistory attribute, so the user has the SID of the new domain and the SID of the old domain.

JIRA accepts setting this other attribute to check for SIDs?

2 - If JIRA doesn't accept the first scenario, it is possible to migrate the whole history of a user to another one?

Ex.:

DOMAINA\user1 has big data using JIRA for more than two years.

DOMAINB\user1 needs to have the same data.

Hi guys,

We have canceled the AD migration, so I think this can be closed.

Thanks!

Hi Vandrey,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

I am actually in the process of doing a AD migration, and in our case we are also changing the usernames, and yes, Jira has no issues with the migration. As long as the usernames are the same in both domains, everything should work.

Hi @Mikael Sandberg,

Thanks for replying.

I'll run some tests on a test environment.
