Issue type specific settings query

Hi,

 

We have many issue types for all projects and one of them is "request- uptime issues"

In this issue type we automatically assign tickets and all of them come in open status as of now these can be closed without filling rootcause but I want root cause field mandatory before closing or resolving.

Means any person who closes or resolves only this issues type (request- uptime issues)for all projects then he should fill rootcase as mandatory. As of now this field is not mandatory for any project. Please suggest ASAP.

Hi Vineet,

You can achieve this by configuring the workflow of the issue type to use a third party plugin to validate the field, the complete steps are in How to make JIRA applications fields required in a workflow transition.

If you can't use any third party plugin, then you will need to create a new custom field just for this one issue type.
