We are preparing a switch from Mantis to JIRA, but would like to keep all the existing links to the mantis instance within forums and other resources working.
Is there a way to automatically open/browse an issue immediately if the search result of a JQL has only one item?
FYI: we will store the old Mantis ID within a custom field so we are able to query exactly one unique issue.
For now we will use the redirect to the search result only.
In future perhaps we'll use the search / lookup via the External issue id, parse the search result, which is given as xml and then redirect to the corrent JIRA issue directly. Should easy to set up for our web admin.
Nevertheless it would be nice if JIRA could have a search parameter to show the issue itself if there is only one result, instead of showing the search results.
In the issue navigator, after you query out the unique issue, you can simply use the shortcut to open/broswer that issue directly.
The shortcut key is: o or Enter
Note: This is only avaiable from JIRA's view issue and issue navigator screens only.
