When you have the same 2 issues by different users. How do you merge the ticket into 1 so that both users are notified?

The merger does a good work so far, but did I get that right, that emails cannot be merged from one ticket into the other?
Best regards
Alex
Hi @Alexander Fiess - are you referring to our app Merge Agent for Jira?
If so, which emails are you trying to merge? Could you please send us a screenshot so we can see which issue content doesn't get merged for you?
You can also send them to support@codefortynine.com if you don't want to share them publicly. Thanks!

Hi @Marcin Kubica - thanks for your message!
Unfortunately we don't have any plans to make a Server version in the near future, as it would probably require a complete reimplementation.
I'll make sure to update this thread should we ever decide to implement a Server version as well!

One question, can this addon do automation, to automaticaly merge all tickets with the same Summary for example?

Hello @Natasa Zikic - thanks for your question!
We don't support automated merging of issues with the same summary yet, but could potentially enhance Merge Agent for Jira to do just that.
Could you please reach out to support@codefortynine.com and describe your use case, so we have a better understanding of what you're trying to achieve?
Thanks!

There is not a native way to do this with Jira. But you might be able to use a plugin like Issue Merger for Jira as an alternative way to handle duplicate issues.

This is only for Jira Server. Is there another plugin for Jira Cloud?

There is the Similar issue finder for Cloud. However it's not exactly the same kind of functionality from what I can tell. It appears to just be a way to help identify duplicate/similar problems. I don't think it has any addition features to merge the existing issues.
I have not been able to find any other Jira Cloud plugins in the Marketplace that appear to have this specific functionality.

@Andy Heinzerwhich keywords did you use to search for such an app?
We've released Merge Agent for Jira a few months ago that should solve exactly this use-case. I'm wondering how we might be able to optimize our keywords to make sure everyone interested will find it on the Marketplace.

@Ira Chandlerhow do you like Merge Agent for Jira?
Please let me know if you have any feedback for us - thanks!

Installed, works great. We are using it and happy with it. Did a great job of a large merge of a BUNCH of issues and handled it perfectly. Great product.

Hi Pam,
you can't merge issues. I would link them as duplicates and close one of them. You can add the author of the first one as watcher for the second one, if you want.
