How to clone JIRA production server to Development server

Hi Support,

We are in the process of clone JIRA production server to Development server.

Please let me know the procedure involved in this what are all the precautions that need to be taken?

I wrote a script to do this. Requires like bhushan said exactly same jira version. Our back system is on a vm where chronilogical productive rsyncs are beeing rsyched at. The script will shut down running backup jira then insert the sql from production after licenses were changed from commercial to developer. Then sync data directory and start jira. Thats all.

Hi Venugopal,

1. Make sure your development server is the same version of JIRA as your production system.

2. Make sure they both use different instances of the same type of database.

3. Take a backup of your production system and import the backup to your development system.
