Hello @sree ramya lanka ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The Jira products available depend on the platform you're looking at:

For Server/Data Center (on-premesis/private cloud/public cloud)

Jira Software - Looks at progress for software projects using boards, releases

Jira Service Management - Looks at management for service desks, facilities, etc.

For Jira Cloud (SaaS)

in addition to Jira Software and Jira Service Management:

Jira Work Management - Looks at progress for business or non-technical projects.

Server/DC also has Jira Work management, but it's still called "Core" by most of us.

Jira Service Management and Jira Software are applications that run on top of a Core installation - if you're using one or both of them, you've got Core running to.

There isn't actually much to compare the three applications, they do different things.

Core/JWM provides all the things you need to use Jira - issues, fields, workflow, app framework, database, projects, users and so-on.

Jira Software adds all the Scrum and Kanban functionality of boards.

Jira Service Management adds stuff for a service desk - queues, SLAs, Agent and Customer access, approvals etc

Thank you @Robert Wen_ReleaseTEAM_ and @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-

I am still having a little trouble - I tried googling but still did not get all the answers

Here they are. Will request answers :

1. Jira Server, Jira Cloud - these are server or cloud based (as the name suggests) and they help you implement software projects (team or team of teams level) using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) etc - is my understanding right??

2. Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps and Jira Align - they are used for higher org level planning, right from teams, scaling all the way unto enterprise level. - is this correct?

While Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps and Jira Align have their advantages and disadvantages, is there any article explaining what tool to be used in what scenarios with examples??

Please correct if any of the above statements are wrong. Any documentation in this area would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

1. I look at the terms "Server", "Data Center", and "Cloud" as the platforms for the Jira products out there.  But, within those platforms, Jira Software is the product you're talking about as far as helping you implement Agile methodologies for software projects.

2. Confluence is a documentation/wiki tool that can be used at all levels of an organization (individual - team - program - portfolio -etc.)

2A. Advanced Roadmaps is a feature found in Jira Data Center and Jira Software Cloud Premium that allows higher org level planning you're talking about.

2B. Jira Align is a separate SaaS product that does the same higher org level planning.  It's typically used in scaled Agile implementations such as SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, etc.

Hope this helps.
