Group customs fields on an issue screen

How can I group new fields on an issue screen?

When I create a text field, I can see it appear under the details section and a date and time field appear under the dates section but I want to group new customs fields in a section of my chosing i.e. a new one, how do I do this?

I'm not sure if there is a good way to do what you want outside of modifying the underlying Jira code.

Some other possible options to get you close would include:

1. Define tabs on your details screen. Then you can group the new custom fields with the tabs.

2. Create a new webpanel plugin. Then in this panel you can control exactly how the custom fields are displayed.

3. Organize the screen so that the fields that you want in each group are next to each other.
