[Database Custom Field] Connecting to JIRA Database

Hi! I've been trying to use the Database Custom Field plugin to connect to my own JIRA database, with no success. Is there anything I might be missing to make it work?

Here's what I've put in context.xml:

<Resource name="jdbc/defaultDS"
          auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"
          username="sa"
          password=""
          driverClassName="org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver"
          url="jdbc:hsqldb://localhost:2990/jiradb;create=true;"
 />

The JIRA log tells:

Database JNDI >>jdbc/defaultDS<<, error obtaining connection

I haven't changed the default username or password, since this is just testing. Any other databases work with no problems.

What is wrong?

Hi Guilherme,

You can see the Jira database configuration in the dbconfig.xml file from Jira's home directory.

You should copy the connection url from there.

It should be of form: jdbc:hsqldb:<jira_home_path>/database/jiradb .

Kind Regards,

Alex

I was trying to avoid using an address from the PC itself and insisting with localhost, but that really doesn't seem to be working. Oh well, this did it, thank you.
