Confluence license issue after upgrading

Tarek Zioune October 14, 2012

After web upgraded confluence to the latest version, when we try to access the web interface we get a license inconsistency error similar to the bug filed on this link: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-19705 . Now we bought a valid license but we can't find how to apply it and resolve the issue.

You can do a quick temporary new install of Conflunence (let's call it conf-temp) and apply the license to it.

Then, in the conf-temp data directory, open the file confluence.cfg.xml and copy these lines over to the confluence.cfg.xml of your production server, overriding the previous ones.

<property name="confluence.license.message">qqRMxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxDhzIL</property>

Hi Tarek,

This issue might have somethign to do with the different types of licenses from Confluence before 3.0 and after this version.

The best course of action is to restore Confluence and upgrade to Confluence 3.0 version which support the license version 1 and 2.

If you still have any problem upgrading Confluence, I suggest to open a support ticket so we can help you in that. :D

Hope that helps!

Best,

Rodrigo
