Changing Agile project name removes all issues.

Jenny Crowley July 7, 2014

I am using JIRA Agile 6.3, and when I edited the name of the project (not the key, just the project name) everything disappeared from the project. The issues were gone, and it was like I created a new project. When I changed the project name back, everything reappeared. How do I change a project name without this happening?

JIRA Agile works of off a Filter (which can be found under Board > Configure )

This Filter by default doesn't reference the Project KEY but the Projects Full Name. So once you've changed the Project Name your board will appear empty.

You can fix this by editing the Filter and changing the Project Name to the project key, or simply updating the name to reflect the new one. Once the search result returns the right issues, save the filter and your board should start working again!

Cheers,

Ivan.
