Automation between projects

Sam Siggins May 14, 2014

Hi, we have recently setup a service desk project within JIRA. User's currently log tickets in our project, and depending on the ticket we are able to either work it, or move it to the necessary developers.

What we need is a way to move tickets between projects based on data entered into the ticket. I have been experimenting with the JIRA automation plugin, however this seems to only allow functionality within the one project.

Do some scripting over it: JJUPIN, ScriptRunner etc

Thank you, I was initally playing around with the ScriptRunner plugin and having many issues, however I was able to get it working with JJUPIN.

On a seperate note, do you know of any way to select say every 2nd ticket and move it to a different location? For example, if we had 2 teams with a project each working on the same type of tickets, how would we split the work evenly between these teams?

Don't know how you setup this thing, but yes, it is possible.

A even split per person example is here; http://confluence.kepler-rominfo.com/display/TR/Assigning+an+Issue+Preserving+The+User+Load

However, I suspect that you have a big project from which you move issues in two projects. For that, you need to use (maybe!)

http://confluence.kepler-rominfo.com/display/SIL/createIssue

and link back the issue to the original one
