A new issue type for existing issues

Question

Hi,

I created a new issue type(migration), also created a new workflow, and assigned it to an existing scheme. Now this scheme has 02 workflows; Now I want to change the type of issue in the existing issues of my project.

In the issue screen, it does not show the new issue type(migration).

Hi @ivanelson

If Migration is on a different workflow, you need to move the issue to it - rather than just editing it. Issue types are only editable via the edit screen when they use a compatible field configuration and workflow association.

To move your issue to Migration:

* Locate the issue you want to move
* Press More (one of the grey action buttons) and select Move
* Keep the project the same but change the issue type
* Follow the screens to complete the change

^ This can be done in bulk as well via issue search and using the Tools > Bulk Change option.
