What is the impact of disabling insight.cf.react.on.cp feature flag?

Can someone shed light on what the impact of disabling the "insight.cf.react.on.cp" feature flag is?

From what I can understand disabling it will result in a fallback to the "old" implementation. But what does that mean and is it connected to known problems?

Hi Andreas,

We are modernizing the UI components in Assets and JSM regularly. In this case, the difference will be using a UI element from a more modern library to display the same information for Assets Custom Fields displayed on the Customer Portal UI.

Because the element is heavily used, we have implemented this feature flag for it. We now know there were a few scenarios in which the new element does not provide the same end-user experience as the old one did.

Aside from the ticket you mentioned it also causes https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDSERVER-11979.

After fixing all the related issues, we will delete the feature flag altogether, and (depending on the timeline) in the upcoming or the next major LTS release it will have no effect, and only the new element will be available.
