Hi @Sandesh TM

Hope you are using Jira cloud - Please navigate to project -> project settings -> Automation -> Create Rule.

Create a trigger and component as I have attached screenshot in the previous comment.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Sharu

We are not using Jira cloud.

Then do we have any other way to achieve?

Hi @Sandesh TM

Good day!

You can create an automation rule for auto assigning to currently logged in User.

Use "Assign the issue to" - "User who triggered the event" Option.

Kindly let me know, if this is what you are looking for.

Thanks,

Sharu

With your example this would always assign all issues which are created to the logged users. There is a use case where you may want to create an issue and assign this to another users.

So I would modify this a little bit.

  1. Set the default assignee in the project as unassigned.
  2. Then create an automation for when an issue is created and the assigned is empty, then assign this to the user who triggered the event.

This way if someone leaves the assignee field empty, then it would at least set to the logged user and still give the option to assign to someone else.
