Is there a way to move issues that are linked at the same time?

Ashley Buchholz May 6, 2019

We have issues that get linked by the "relates to" task, and we were wondering if you can move linked tasks together?

So when you attach a "relates to" task to another task, is this a way to move them in bulk so you don't have to move them individually.

Thanks for the help!

Hello @Johann,

Thank you for reaching out to Community!

When moving an issue from one project to another, the linked issues will be kept linked to the issue, but they won't be moved to the same project as the parent.

There are no workarounds for that at the moment.

Linked issues can be from the same or different projects, or even different Jira sites, so they are independent of the parent issue and need to be moved separately.

Kind regards,
Angélica

Hi Ashley,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Currently, when moving the main issue, the linked issues will not be moved to the same project.
I've searched for feature requests and documentation that could give us more details about why it's not possible to include the issue links on the "move" option but didn't find anything that could help us.
Please, feel free to raise a feature request on jira.tlassian.com on the project JRACLOUD adding more details about why this feature is important for your environment.

Regards,
Angélica
