How can I define the field length (characters and spaces) of a single- and multi-line text field in a form?

Hi Evelyn,

You can set the max character length for all fields in Jira by going to Admin > System > General configuration > Advanced settings > and setting jira.text.field.character.limit as needed.

If you are looking to limit a single or few fields, then you will likely need a plugin or to code a custom field type to meet your needs. Scriptrunner Behaviours may be able to do it. Cheers!

Yes, ProForma Lite  can also do that if you want more design options.

You can nominate text field length by word count or characters in ProForma Lite (free up to 3 form templates).  There is also the option of using regex patterning or default answers for more design flexibility.

To be transparent, I am from ProForma but I hope that also assists.
