Hi community,
we use the JIRA integration in Slack and added some webhooks in JIRA which inform us automatically in a specific Slack Channel about new incidents in our JIRA ServiceDesk . These information messages are standard and look all the same. Is there any chance to customize these messages, add additional info such as which organisation the customer belongs to who created the new incident...?
Thank you for your reply.
Cheers, Lars
Hey Lars,
Atlassian offers an Atlassian-built Jira Cloud to Slack app. While it doesn't have message customization currently, there are many features being built out that you can expect to see in the app soon.
As for something you can use today, there are many Slack connectors on the marketplace that offer a variety of features. While I don't endorse any particular marketplace app, a quick search did turn up that the JSoftware connector has message customization that you can use to select which custom fields (like Organization) are included in the Slack message.
Cheers,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
The native slack/Jira app remains less than optimal for messaging 2 years after this post. In addition, Jira Automation still expects you to use webhooks which are not actively supported by SLACK.
What are the new features planned (if any) for the Slack/Jira app)?
Regards,
Oliver
