We want a custom field Hostname to capture Server/ PC name on which issue is reported in ticket - we need it to be a lookup field where information can be daily feed in from Asset CMDB. Users can search for the host and select it from list - how this is possible in JIRA ServiceDesk

if you already have DB as CMDB you can use nFeed plugin (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/23337/elements-connect-formerly-nfeed?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview)
Or if you don't have CMDB or if you want have it all in Jira then you can use Insight as CMDB in Jira (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1212137/insight-asset-management?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview)
