remember my login on this computer

Hi All,

What is the purpose of the 'remember my login on this computer' checkbox on the login screen if the browsers can still store user's credentials? I have disabled this checkbox for us, but unless the option to remember credentials is disabled on all of the browsers, I really don't see a point of not having it on the login screen...

Thoughts?

Hi Dina,

Without this option the session expires after a specific time(5 hours by default). Checking the option before login creates a cookie, which allows you to extend this time(this time ammount is configurable, too), and this way if you access your JIRA, for example, after 6 hours, you wont be asked for your password again. For more info check here and here

Regards,

Peter

Peter! Thank you SO much! It all makes sense now smile
