JIRA Linux Server Proxy Settings`

Spruha_Shah October 1, 2019

Hello,

We are changing our jira proxy settings within our linux server and need to know where does our current proxy settings reside and in what configuration file within the linux server. We looked at bunch of different files related to proxy but unable to find the exact file where we would have to make the change.

In 2 days, our proxy will be changing so our current proxy wont be working and if we dont make the change before that this will affect our users and wont be able to access jira at all. Please HELP!

It depends on how these are configured when you configured the proxy.

You will find the information at /opt/atlassian/jira/conf/server.xml file

Did you even search google or atlassian site? There are so many articles online where you can find help

There is no way we can know how you have set up your proxy.

But if you're going to switch, it's not too hard to tell Jira about the new one.  Edit the server.xml file and look for "proxyName" in there.  If your proxy is going to have a new name, you'll need to change that, and then change the base url in Jira.  (I'm assuming nothing else will be changing - the new proxy will be running http or https as the old one does now and looking at the same port on the Jira server)
