Can we know who searched for the issues using the 'Searching for issues" functionality of JIRA core?

Hi,

the standard  access logs displays all the requests served by tomcat

 

there you can see line by line the complete URL with the filter id or params with the user name

Yes, the logs are the way to do it.  The application does not log that sort of thing internally.
