Auto assign labels based on user group

Question

I actually tried to use the solution from this post:

But it does not seem to work. Any other way to change/update fields based on people being in specific groups?

Actually, I'd use much the same code. But what you've found is 3.5 years old (or 3 JIRA versions) and JIRA has changed since then, so it needs revising.  (Specifically, the component manager stuff and the calls to user/group code has changed.  I think the label related code is actually ok)
