in Jira we have a project called ATER(Automated Test Execution Results). here components field was editable earlier. from past 2 months we are not able to edit or add any new components .
URL: https://jira.resideo.com/projects/ATER/summary
I am Jira admin. also I have associated project administrator role.
But still component creation button greyed out.
To add a new component you need to have "Administer project" Permission in your project
To select a component when creating an issue make sure the components are added by project administrator and then make sure you have Edit issues permission.
In simple words check whether you are the project administrator for the project and whether you can edit other issues also in that project.
If you are Project administrator, you should be able to add new components, otherwise contact Jira administrator about this and for selecting components while editing an issue make sure components are present in the components page link in project sidebar.

Hi,
the resideo link doesn't work for us, probably it's restricted for your organization.
Do you still have admin rights for the project? Are you sure you are adding all necessary details when creating the component? Have you got a screenshot or is there an error message?
