How do you prevent external jira users from accessing work logs in an issue?

Joanna March June 13, 2019

We have external users of jira (clients) who have been given access to a specific project only and we do not want them to view work logs on any of the issues in that project. Currently they can see time recorded on any of the issues in the project via the issue History tab.

We also do not want them to access the People button when they click on Jira Admin in their side menu (which they seem to have access to) as if they click on a person in our internal team they can see the latest issues that person has been working on from ALL client/internal projects in our Jira. This is important as it means currently we will breach our other clients privacy.

Thanks for that. Can you also tell me how to stop external users seeing other recent projects listed in the left hand menu when they click on the "switch to icon...." . Even though they are restricted to viewing only 1 project a list of recent projects appears in the left hand menu.

The Hide worklog plugin you mention above is only for the Server versions. We use the Jira Cloud version. Can you recommend a plugin for the Cloud version?

I'd also be interested in knowing if this is possible for JIRA Cloud.

After 30 mins crawling through Google postings, sadly, it doesn't appear to be the case.
