I want to create a task and associate subtasks to that task when using the automation for Jira addon when a version is released.
I am not aware of how to define the parent issue, the only only options I get is Current Issue or Trigger Issue.
When running the trigger with the both settings to Trigger Issue, I get the following error Issue Type is a sub task but parent issue key or id is not specified.
Basically the question is: How do I reference the task I create in the trigger in the creation of the subtask?
You can try using a branch rule as below and use the parent as 'current issue'.
I think this should work.
