Jira Service Management 6.0 will now be named Jira Service Management 10.0

Platform Name Update | JSM 6.0 will be renamed JSM 10.0

Hello Data Center Community!

In March 2024, we announced that all Data Center products are getting a platform release. At that time, we announced that Jira Service Management 6.0 was designated as the upcoming platform version for JSM.

Based on what we heard from you, the differing numbers for our Jira product releases were causing unnecessary confusion. To help streamline these releases, we will introduce Jira Software 10.0 and Jira Service Management 10.0 in the Q3 2024 release.

With this change, no major compatibility issues are expected; it is simply a change in name.

This adjustment aims to synchronize the version numbers of Jira Software and Jira Service Management Data Center, as these products are consistently released together. The current naming system poses complexities that can lead to confusion during upgrades or when addressing CVEs. By aligning the version numbers, we aim to simplify the process of selecting the most compatible Jira versions.
