restrictions

Тарасов Иван April 16, 2024

Good afternoon

Jump up

I created a space and at the root two pages

On each page I added restrictions on writing and reading, but if I create a page already on these pages, then these restrictions will not be respected on them, everyone can do them, even me, who does not have access to edit

Hi @Тарасов Иван

When you say creating a page on these pages, do you mean an additional page under a parent page?

To clarify...

  • Read restrictions are inherited from a parent page - if you cannot see the parent, you also cannot see the child page.
  • Edit restrictions are not inherited though - you'd need to set these per page singularly

The fact of the matter is that I set two groups on the parent page, one for reading, the second for writing.

And those users who are in the reading group can edit all child pages

Hi @Тарасов Иван

Edit permissions are not inherited across child pages; you have to set them per page.

So that's what I'm saying, that's the problem.

No one should have editing, but everyone does.

Hi @Тарасов Иван

That's how Confluence works.

There are feature requests for this you could check out...
