I followed the tutorial in regards to reset my admin password on confluence server, however, the recovery_admin user seems to have only reading rights, therefore I can't change anything. Can someone help me reset my admin account of confluence? I am using Linux OS.
I have the same problem. (Worth noting is that I imported the data using restore on a recovery file from a different server.)
I can't delete a user or edit password

Hi,
I did try it a few times. I can log in with the recovery_admin account but I can not change anything. Every time I try to reset my original admin password, it throws an error
The account shows the ready only access. I tried to find the logs at few places but I couldn't find anything useful. Any suggestions on what to do next?

Hello,
I couldn't find 'application.log' anywhere but I found the following in atlassian-confluence.log.
2020-02-24 10:37:11,237 WARN [http-nio-9100-exec-10] [atlassian.seraph.auth.DefaultAuthenticator] login login : 'recovery_admin' tried to login but they do not have USE permission or weren't found. Deleting remember me cookie.
It seems the recovery_admin doesn't have permission to change anything. Can we change the writing permissions of the user somehow?
