Hi,

Im interested in publishing from a Confluence page the release notes of a jira project-version. I suppose that the release notes can be customized to (e.g.) show the description instead of the summary.

Is there any way to include the release notes from a confluence page? In my environment Jira and Confluence are running as trusted apps, and I want to link the info always updated, instead of copy&paste from jira (possible outdating if modified).

Thanks.

plonk!

Just realized ...

This can be achieved with "jiraissues" macro, setting the fixVersion order by issuetype, and displaying the "release notes" field.

Confluence and Jira are already configured as trusted apps. But I want to link the the "release notes" report, perhaps using a macro from Confluence, same way as linking to a jira search filter.

When using jiraissues macro, the search results are included in the confluence page (like an iframe), I want the same for the release notes report.

Is it possible to use a mechanism to publish jira release notes in confluence without having an application link between both systems?

You can produce a fancy release document from your JIRA issues with the PDF View Plugin (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.midori.jira.plugin.pdfview). You can then simply attach that PDF document to a Confluence page, and display it within the page in the usual way. You can even automate this process using the PDF generator API (http://www.midori-global.com/products/jira-pdf-view-plugin/documentation/api) or the PDF Automation Plugin (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.midori.jira.plugin.pdfautomation)
