Hi Puranam, 

 

generally, when we face issues related to a 500 error in Confluence without any recent modification, we could be facing it regarding the following points:

  1. Check if <CONFLUENCE-HOME> is not writable (check the permission of the directory and sub-directories)
  2. Confluence database is not available - check the connection parameters in <CONFLUENCE-HOME>/confluence.cfg.xml and verify if the database user has access to all confluence tables and if the password is the same.

If that doesn't work, as Nic mentioned, can you please let us know what's displayed in the latest atlassian-confluence.log file which is inside <Confluence Home/logs> directory when Confluence is starting?

Yes, something is broken.  What does the log file say is going wrong, and what are you doing that makes it happen?
