install confluence. Inactive "NEXT" button on last step "Configure user management"

Anatoly Shtalinberg November 24, 2013

I have installed Jira. Now, i am trying to install confluence. On the step "Configure user management" i receive the following text and can't to continue or to complete the installation:

--------------------------

Load users and groups from JIRA

Full synchronisation completed successfully.
Local administrator account created.

We have created a local administrator with the same username and password as the JIRA system administrator you provided. This will ensure that you can always log into Confluence to update the system configuration.

--------------------------

The "NEXT" button is inactive .... why ?

The problem is due to Confluence not being able to create the JIRA admin properly. It's been an ongoing issue which we believed was fixed but looks like it's still affecting users. The current bug report is here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-31129

At this stage the workaround is to skip connecting to JIRA during the initial set up and then configure it manually after the installation has completed.

Hello There,

I used the second workaround on Firefox and it worked smile

Alternative workaround
  1. Right click the "Next" button and go to "Inspect Element"
  2. Remove the disabled="disabled" section
  3. The Next button became clickable

Cheers,

Melina

  • Have you try on other supported internet browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox ?
  • Besides, can you please try to restart Confluence see whether the problem is still reproducible ?

If yes, you might want to raise a support ticket on href="https://support.atlassian.com%20">https://support.atlassian.com for futher troubleshooting and investigation.
