Why is the Publish button always enabled?

The Publish button is always enabled on one of my Confluence pages.  I've selected the Publish button but when I come back to the page the Publish button is enabled again even though I haven't made any additional changes.

Because the Publish button is always enabled on this page, I cannot use any of the links on the page to automatically open.  I have to right mouse-click on the link and select the option to open in a new page.

Is there a way to fix this?

@Helen Hernandez are you navigating to that page or using clicking a link to get there? If you are clicking a link, check in the menu bar that it does not contain the following syntax:

https://yourcompany.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/~#########/pages/edit-v2/##########

If you mistakenly saved a link to a page with the edit option in the URL, it will always take you to the page and place it in edit mode.

Hi,

Oh my goodness!  Thank you so much!  You hit the nail on the head.  I usually navigate to the page via a link and when I looked at the link, it contained /edit-v2.

I re-did the link and now the Publish button on the page doesn't automatically show up.  What a relief!

Again, thank you for your help!
