Why does the backspace key go to the beginning of the current word?

Bob Crocker November 22, 2016

When editing inConfluence, why does the backspace key (often but not always) go to the beginning of the current word instead of deleting the character to the left?

When I'm editing in Confluence, I sometimes miss a character and then rapidly backspace 2-8 times to back up and re-type the rest of the word. Sometimes that works fine but - annoying often - I find that the cursor has skipped backward a whole word and I've just deleted the space between the words and the end of the previous word.

My preferred browser is Chrome and it is up to date.

I don't see this happening in other applications - so far just Confluence.

This sounds like a bug, with which you'd probably go through https://support.atlassian.com for. Without knowing your version of Confluence, I can't dig too much either.

For the record: I use Chrome and Confluence 5.9.5 right now and I do NOT experience this issue.
